Hangzhou's West Lake is at the heart of the cultural attractions that Hangzhou has to offer and is an incredible place to wander around.
No matter what season you visit, West Lake offers something different. From the red leaves in autumn, snowfall in winter, and cherry blossoms in the summer, there's always something to see around the lake.
You can visit Hangzhou for a few days and not wander far from West Lake, with the majority of the city's cultural attractions surrounding it - this make it a great spot to base yourself, as well as a good photo spot to take photos of those aforementioned attractions.
That said, all those posts are listed separately in this guide so click around and explore!
West Lake is the cultural heart of the city so it's served by countless transport links - whether cycling, metro, buses etc. If you want to go to a specific spot though, taking a didi is likely the easiest.
