Malinghe Canyon Scenic Area is a hidden gem for waterfall lovers.

About Malinghe Canyon

Wander down the staircase to the base of Malinghe Canyon and you'll be faced with towering cliffs full of cascading waterfalls. While the full canyon is about 75km long, the main 1.7km section that you are allowed to visit drops down to the water's edge where, during rainy season, there's about 20 waterfalls.

Getting to Malinghe Canyon:

You can fly or train to xingyi and then either rent a car or use a ride-hailing app like didi.

Important note:

Note that the rainy season from June-August is the best time to go to see the waterfalls in all their glory.

For those unable - or unwilling - to hike up and down from the bottom (especially in the sumer heat), there is a tourist elevator which can make it a whole lot easier!
