Drenthe is a province located in the northeastern part of NL. It is known for its beautiful countryside, with rolling hills, forests, and heathlands. The province is home to many historic sites, including the Hunebedden, ancient megalithic tombs, and the Drents-Friese Wold National Park.
Drenthe is also known for its many cycling routes, which offer stunning views of the countryside. Also don't forget to visit some of the National Parks and lakes here, like at Gasselterveld, located in the Hondsrug nature area.
And the Hunzevalley, Unesco GeoPark de Hondsrug, Drentsche Aa, and Balloërveld with its extensive heathlands, blooming in August and September, should be stunning as well. Also bigger cities such as Groningen and Emmen are just a short drive away.
