Waterfall
Between all the excitement of exploring different waterfalls and enjoying refreshing swims in Litchfield National Park, one of the highlights for me was visiting Tolmer Falls lookout. It's a peaceful spot where you can truly soak in the beauty of nature without the usual crowds. The falls themselves are especially impressive during the wet season when they cascade with greater force.
If you're up for a leisurely walk, I highly recommend the Tolmer Falls Walk trail. Starting from the carpark, it forms a pleasant 1.6km circuit. Rated as a level 3 walk, it's fairly easy with a mostly flat path, making it accessible for most visitors. Along the trail, you'll encounter several lookout points, each offering breathtaking views of the falls and surrounding landscapes. Take your time on the loop, around 45 minutes should be enough, but don't forget to pause and capture some stunning photos along the way. I’d recommend going clockwise to save the best view for last.
For those who prefer a shorter stroll, you can opt to walk directly to the falls, which are only about 400 meters from the carpark. It's a quick stroll that still rewards you with a spectacular view of Tolmer Falls.
