Hike
2-3h
This was my first-ever sunrise hike, and it's a memory I'll always cherish. The Pyramid Hike in Girraween National Park is an unforgettable adventure if you're up for a bit of a challenge. The trail is 4.2 kilometers return with the granite arch as a detour on your way back. The trail leads you up to Pyramid Peak, the park's highest point. The climb is steep and rocky, but the effort is rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Granite Belt region from the top.
The first 500 meters are flat and easy, followed by about 800 meters of stairs before the final stretch up the rock face. Considering the views, it's a fairly short walk. The trail can be demanding, so sturdy hiking shoes and plenty of water are essential. Doing this hike at sunrise is perfect; the shorter length and the early darkness help you forget just how steep the climb is, and watching the sunrise from the peak is absolutely breathtaking.
