Visiting Wallaman Falls in Girringun National Park is an adventure that will leave you in awe from start to finish. As Australia’s tallest single-drop waterfall, Wallaman Falls plunges an impressive 268 meters into a verdant rainforest, making it a must-see natural wonder. From the car park, you can enjoy a couple of short walks to viewpoints that offer jaw-dropping views of the falls and the surrounding gorge, perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots.

To truly experience the grandeur of Wallaman Falls, take on the 4-kilometer return hike down to the base. The trail, winding through ancient rainforest, is steep and rugged, offering both a challenge and an exhilarating sense of accomplishment. Along the way, you'll be greeted by vibrant vegetation and occasional wildlife sightings, heightening the adventure with each step.

After about 2 hours of walking, you’ll reach the base and be enveloped by the full splendor of the falls, with the refreshing mist cooling you as you take in the view. The climb back up can be tough, so make sure you’re well-prepared with water and sturdy footwear. Despite the uphill effort, the breathtaking close-up view of Wallaman Falls is more than worth it. Remember to respect the traditional lands of the Warrgamaygan Aboriginal People—it’s a site of immense natural beauty and cultural significance.
