Hopetoun Falls, just a short drive from the Redwoods, are an absolute must-see if you’re exploring the Great Otway National Park. This spectacular waterfall, cascading 30 meters into rocky pools below, is surrounded by lush ferns and towering rainforest, creating a scene that feels like stepping into a tropical paradise.
From the car park, you’ve got an easy 20-meter stroll to the upper viewing platform, offering great views without much effort. However, if you're up for a bit of adventure, take the 200 stairs down to the lower platform. The 1-kilometer return walk to the base of the falls is relatively easy but can get a bit slippery, so a bit of caution is advised. The effort is well worth it, as the view from the bottom is nothing short of breathtaking. The cascading water, framed by verdant greenery, makes for an incredible photo backdrop, so don’t forget your camera.
