In my opinion, the waterfalls in Mount Buffalo National Park have the clearest water of any falls in Australia. The first time I saw Lady Bath Falls, I was stunned by how crystal clear and fresh the water was. To reach these falls, you just need to follow a short and easy 400-meter track from the carpark, and voilà, you’ll step into a tranquil paradise. The cascading water and lush surroundings create such a calming atmosphere.
When I visited, I hadn’t planned on swimming because the water here is famously cold. But as I walked around and saw the sunlight dancing off the crystal-clear water, I couldn’t resist. I hurried back to my van to grab my bikini and took a refreshing dip. The water was icy, so I couldn’t stay in for too long, but sitting on the boulders at the edge and soaking up the sun to dry off was simply magical. It felt like being in a fairyland with such picturesque scenery and invigoratingly fresh water.
Once you’ve soaked in the beauty of Lady Bath Falls, continue on the track for another 500 meters to reach Eurobin Falls. This waterfall is uniquely spectacular, cascading down a series of rugged rock ledges to create a powerful and graceful multi-tiered display. Eurobin Falls has a rugged, untamed charm, with water tumbling over moss-covered rocks and through dense foliage. On sunny days, the mist often catches the light to form rainbows, adding an extra touch of enchantment. Trust me, these falls are definitely worth the extra few steps.
