Rollasons Falls are the perfect example of why I think Mount Buffalo National Park has some of the clearest waterfalls in all of Australia. Exploring this place was such a delightful experience. The track to the falls is 1.9 kilometers (one-way) from the picnic area and is super easy and family-friendly. As you walk, you’ll meander through lush bushland, soaking in the natural beauty all around. The trail takes you to a T-intersection, where you get to choose your own adventure: go left to see the top of the falls or right to discover the lower falls and a refreshing swimming hole.
When I hit the lower falls, I was amazed by the inviting swimming hole. The crystal-clear water was perfect for a quick dip, and the setting felt like a hidden oasis. The lower falls are particularly great for a relaxed and refreshing break, while the top of the falls provides a stunning view of the cascading water from above. The water here is pretty icy even in the hotter months but will make you feel alive and refreshed. Whether you’re basking by the pool or marveling at the falls from above, the experience is a revitalizing escape into nature. The combination of the serene surroundings and the pristine water makes Rollasons Falls a must-visit spot in the park.
