Waterfall
Florence Falls is a beloved spot in Litchfield National Park that I absolutely love. This stunning waterhole features a beautiful waterfall cascading into a tranquil pool. Don't forget to bring a floaty or a pool noodle to really enjoy the experience. Personally, I enjoy swimming right up to where the waterfall drops down, feeling the rush of water, it's exhilarating!
Since Florence Falls can get crowded, I recommend visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon for a bit more serenity. You'll often see adventurous folks jumping off the rock cliffs, but if that's your thing, be cautious and check the water's depth and for hidden rocks.
From the carpark, it's just a quick 3-minute stroll to the Falls viewing platform where you can snap some awesome Instagram-worthy pics of the waterfall from above. To get down to the waterhole itself, you'll follow the 160-meter steps, which takes about 5-10 minutes. Then, dive right in and enjoy the refreshing water! It's a straightforward and rewarding journey to this beautiful spot.
The waterhole at Florence Falls features stairs and a walkway, making it easy to enter and exit without navigating slippery rocks. During the dry season when I visited, the water wasn't very deep. There are plenty of rocks and boulders in the pool where you can sit, stand, and relax. Just be mindful of these rocks to avoid accidentally bumping your legs or toes.
