Fortescue Falls in Karijini National Park is a total gem for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers! This spot is a feast for the senses, surrounded by captivating rock formations, pristine waters that shimmer like liquid crystal, and lush greenery that adds a touch of serenity to the rugged outback landscape.

The falls themselves cascade gracefully over ancient rock, creating a serene pool at the base where visitors can cool off with a refreshing swim. It's not just about the water, though the atmosphere here is pure magic, with the sounds of nature echoing off the canyon walls and creating a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

To get the most out of your visit, consider starting your adventure with a hike along the nearby trails, which offer breathtaking views of the gorge and its unique geological features. The 4.3km loop walk is a popular choice, featuring fun ladders, water crossings, and opportunities to spot native wildlife along the way.

The plunge pool beneath Fortescue Falls is an ideal spot to take a dip or simply float and enjoy the natural beauty all around. The rocks get very slippery with moss so be careful. When I visited I saw a couple sliding around on the moss and making a game of it and it looked so fun so once they finished I went over and gave it a try, it was pretty fun. You’ll most likely see other visitors sitting on the rocks soaking in some sun after a swim. It's a place where every moment feels like a discovery, and every step reveals another facet of this remarkable landscape.
