Boolimba Bluff in Carnarvon Gorge is an absolute must-do hike for anyone keen to soak in the park's stunning landscapes. This 4.4-kilometer return trail leads you up to a dramatic vantage point with panoramic views of the gorge and surrounding wilderness. The trail is well-defined but involves a steep climb, so be prepared for a moderate challenge—though it’s manageable enough that I saw older couples and kids tackling it.
As you ascend, you’ll pass through lush forests and rocky outcrops, each offering unique perspectives of the gorge below. The summit of Boolimba Bluff is simply breathtaking, with views that are well worth the effort, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light makes the scenery truly magical. The trail can get a bit busy on weekends, so starting early can help you enjoy the views with fewer crowds. With the best views of Carnarvon Gorge, Boolimba Bluff is 100% a must-do walk.
