It's tough to play favorites in Karijini because every corner of this national park is a treasure trove, but Knox Gorge holds a special place in my heart. This gorge is tucked away from the crowds, making it a perfect retreat to reconnect with nature.

Starting from the car park, you embark on a 2 km trail that descends into the gorge, featuring some rocky scrambles and steep sections. With a bit of patience, the trail is manageable for everyone.

Once you reach the water level in the gorge, the real adventure begins as you navigate along rock ledges to reach the end of the path. It's exhilarating yet a tad nerve-wracking—following the arrows over water pools demands a good grip on your shoes. At the trail's end, you're rewarded with stunning views where the rocks converge closely, creating a mesmerizing slot canyon.

Exploring Knox Gorge, I felt deeply connected to nature and in awe by Australia's unfiltered beauty. I only encountered one couple making the journey feel remarkably intimate and secluded. On my return, I couldn't resist a swim in one of the green-hued pools. The water, typical of Karijini, was wonderfully refreshing and rejuvenating.

I adore this spot and find it surprising that it often flies under the radar in this park. The trail feels like nature's own obstacle course, complete with breathtaking scenery at every turn.
