If you’re reading through all my recommendations for things to do in the Flinders Ranges, you’ve probably noticed that I’m pretty obsessed with this national park and speak highly of all the hikes here. Mount Ohlssen-Bagge is no exception. This 7.1-kilometer loop trail offers a fantastic blend of challenging terrain and awe-inspiring views, making it one of the most rewarding hikes in the region.

The adventure begins at the Wilpena Pound Information Centre, so make sure to stop by for detailed directions and trail maps before you set out. The friendly staff there are incredibly helpful, providing valuable tips and ensuring you’re fully prepared for the journey ahead. As you embark on the trail, you’ll traverse a variety of landscapes, from dense scrubland to rugged rocky outcrops, with some steep climbs that will definitely get you sweating. Every step brings you closer to breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding ranges and the iconic Wilpena Pound. The summit offers a spectacular vantage point where you can truly soak in the expansive beauty of the Flinders Ranges and the rugged terrain below.
