Nanguluwurr Rock Art Site in the Northern Territory left me in awe. Its powerful depictions of ancestral spirits and animals, along with a fascinating early portrayal of contact between Aboriginal people and Europeans, including a painting of a two-masted sailing ship with an anchor chain, which offers a thought-provoking perspective on colonization through Indigenous eyes.

This site features numerous informative signs detailing the art, offering a deep dive into the history of Australia's Indigenous peoples and the stories depicted through their drawings. For thousands of years, this site served as a significant camping ground for Aboriginal people, situated along the main walking route from the Escarpment Country to the South Alligator floodplain.

The trail is a 3.4 km round trip, it is flat but exposed to sunlight, so remember to bring water and wear sun-safe clothing.
