I’ve already written about some of the amazing things to do in Mount Buffalo National Park, like the waterfalls and lookouts I visited and loved. However, I wish I had explored the park a bit more and tackled some additional walks. So, I wanted to highlight a few more trails that you should definitely consider if you’re visiting. The area is a hiker’s dream, offering a diverse range of trails that showcase the park’s spectacular alpine scenery. Whether you’re after a leisurely stroll or a more strenuous trek, there’s something for every level of adventurer.
One of the must-do trails is the Mount Buffalo Summit Walk. This 6-kilometer return trail is a bit of a workout but takes you to the summit of Mount Buffalo, where the panoramic views of the alpine scenery are absolutely breathtaking. The moderate challenge is well worth it for the sweeping vistas you’ll be rewarded with.
For those looking for a more strenuous adventure, the The Horn Walk is an excellent choice. This 7-kilometer return hike leads you to The Horn, the highest point in the park. The trail provides stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Though it’s a bit demanding, the payoff at the top is spectacular.
If you’re in the mood for a shorter, more relaxed hike, don’t miss the Creepy Crawly Track. This 1.2-kilometer loop is perfect for a quick escape into nature. It’s an easy trail that immerses you in the local flora and fauna, offering a lovely, tranquil experience without the need for a lengthy trek.
Whether you're spending just a day or several days in the park, these hikes offer a wonderful way to experience the diverse beauty of Mount Buffalo. It’s a nature lover’s and outdoor enthusiast’s dream in the Australian Alps, with trails that cater to all levels of adventure.
