Beauchamp Falls is a really sick spot in Great Otway National Park, one because of the stunning waterfall and two because it has a free campsite right at the car park. It's pretty surreal when you get to wake up, jump straight out of your campervan, lace up your hiking boots, and walk straight down to a tranquil waterfall.
To reach the falls, you'll need to tackle a 2.5-kilometer return walk, which is surprisingly manageable and takes you through a fairy-tale-like landscape. The trail is well-maintained but does get a bit muddy due to the lush rainforest environment, so don’t be afraid to embrace the adventure and get a little dirty. Handrails are provided for the slippery sections, making the hike easier and safer.
When you finally reach the base of Beauchamp Falls, you’ll be greeted by a cool plunge pool that’s perfect for a refreshing dip after your trek. The waterfall and its surrounding forest create a breathtaking and serene atmosphere, ideal for relaxing and soaking in nature's beauty. Oh, if you’re planning to camp here, try to arrive early, as the spots are limited and highly sought after.
