Stokes Hill Lookout, nestled in the heart of Willow Springs, South Australia, is one of those spots that’ll make your jaw drop and your camera work overtime. This lookout boasts breathtaking 360-degree views of the Flinders Ranges that are nothing short of spectacular. Whether you catch the sunrise painting the sky in hues of pink and orange or the sunset casting a golden glow over the landscape, the panoramic vistas of Wilpena Pound will leave you spellbound.
Now when you check online you will find that it states that this spot is accessible via all vehicle types and yes my 2WD van did make it up, but boy it was a little bit of a challenge, it isn't a long dirt road but it's pretty steep and rocky, getting up I flawed it but getting down my van didn't feel the best. Give it a go and assess if you think your vehicle is up for the challenge, I mean the views at the lookout are like a reward for the sketchy drive. It's a great stop for anyone eager to soak in the raw beauty of the outback, so pack your snacks, set up your camera, and get ready for a visual feast.
