Waterloo Station, located in central London, is a major terminus on the National Rail network. Originally opened in 1848 by the London and South Western Railway, it replaced the Nine Elms station to provide closer access to the West End. Despite its haphazard development over the years, including various extensions and renovations, Waterloo remains a bustling hub for commuters traveling to destinations like Weymouth, Exeter, and Portsmouth Harbour. With its iconic Victory Arch and status as the UK's third busiest station, Waterloo continues to be a key transportation hub in the heart of London.
