Message from Dani Leat

The Donkey Sanctuary is a British charity that's all about looking out for donkeys. Founded in 1969 by Elisabeth Svendsen, they're based near Sidmouth in East Devon.

With an annual income of £37 million, they're one of the biggest equine charities around. The sanctuary takes care of over 4,000 donkeys across Europe and runs projects in places like Egypt, India, and Kenya. They also do cool stuff like hosting International Donkey Week and educating people about donkey welfare. Plus, they've got a special trust for children with donkeys, making sure everyone – donkeys included – gets the love and care they deserve.
