The Pilchard Inn is a historic pub located on Burgh Island in South Devon, serving up delicious food and drinks with stunning coastal views. Dating back to 1336, this cosy old smugglers hut has plenty of nooks and crannies (mind your head!) and roaring fires, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a pint or a meal.
In the summer, you can sit outside in the beer garden or simply sit on the stone wall with the views overlooking Bigbury and Bantham beaches. You'll need to time your visit well with the tide to be able to walk across to the island, or you can wait for the sea tractor to take you back to the mainland.
With friendly staff, a menu featuring local ingredients, and a relaxed atmosphere, The Pilchard Inn is a must-visit for anyone looking for a taste of traditional British cuisine in a picturesque setting.
N.B. Due to its location, prices to tend to be very expensive!
