As a Bahamian, I can tell you that the Educulture Junkanoo Museum in Nassau is a vibrant celebration of our rich culture and traditions. Founded by Arlene Nash Ferguson, someone deeply connected to Junkanoo, the museum beautifully showcases the history and spirit of this lively festival.

It all started as a celebration of freedom for slaves, and now it’s an explosion of color and music! While the biggest Junkanoo festivals are on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day with thousands of locals and tourists flooding the streets, you can still feel the energy year-round at the museum with its traditional costumes and rhythmic beats. If you're in downtown Nassau, it’s definitely worth a visit!
