Sanzen-in Temple (founded in 767) is one of the main Buddhist Temples of the area. It is a very peaceful and tranquil place that is pretty large and consists of several buildings, including the main hall, a tea house, and a beautiful garden with a pond and walking paths. The interior of the main hall is filled with beautiful paintings and statues, where you can get yourself a cup of tea with dessert to enjoy while sitting on a terrace with a beautiful view of a traditional Japanese garden.
Another thing worth mentioning - in this Temple I found one of the most beautiful Omamori I've ever seen (you can see it in one of the videos). I bought the blue one; it costs 1,000 JPY, and if I understood the priest correctly, the blue one is for a healthy body and soul, while the red one is for a healthy heart (symbolic meaning).
TIP - there is an option to drink some delicious matcha in the hall with those red carpets. It is a pretty cool experience, partly to a a beautiful view of a centuries old Japanese garden
