A very atmospheric restaurant that mainly serves a variety of grilled fish and meat.
The highlight of this place is that all seats are placed around the so-called "irori," which is a Japanese sunken hearth fired with charcoal, and you can see the whole process of how the chef skillfully prepares your dish and then grills it over that irori.
Last but not least, those sets will be served in the form of Ochazuke - basically, it is when you eat half of your dish as it is, but then you can mix in one bowl your leftovers of the main dish and rice and pour hot green tea so it changes to a more of a soup dish.
I know it might sound super weird if you have never tried it, and honestly, I am not the biggest fan of Ochazuke, but this one totally changed my mind. It was so fulfilling and satisfying to finish my dish in the form of Ochazuke.
The good part is that of course you do not have to do it if you do not like Ochazuke or you do not want to even try; it is totally up to you. But if you have never tried it, I recommend doing it at least once, and this looks like a perfect restaurant to do so.
Honestly, this place became one of my favorites, and I try to come here almost every month or two. I am even thinking of adding this restaurant to my "Best Foodies" in my IG highlight stories.
My favorites are the "dried Atka mackerel" and the "Beef steak set meal."
