Message from Kieran - Exploring Scotland

Lennox Castle, located in Lennoxtown, Scotland, was once home to Lennox Castle Hospital, the largest institution for people with learning disabilities in Scotland. Built in the 19th century, the castle was converted into a hospital in 1936 and housed over 1,200 patients. However, due to overcrowding, understaffing, and poor conditions, the hospital closed in 2002. The castle itself is now in ruins following a fire in 2008, with parts of its grounds repurposed as Celtic F.C.'s training center and a residential development called Campsie Village.
