Message from Kieran - Exploring Scotland

Urquhart Castle, located beside Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, is a historic ruin dating back to the 13th to 16th centuries. It played a role in the Wars of Scottish Independence and was later held by the Clan Grant amidst conflicts with the MacDonalds. Despite being raided multiple times, the castle was strengthened until it was mostly abandoned in the 17th century. Partially destroyed in 1692 to prevent use by Jacobite forces, the castle now stands as a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views of Loch Ness and a glimpse into Scotland's medieval past.
