Ruislip Lido is a reservoir and man-made beach in Ruislip, London. Originally built as a feeder basin for the Grand Junction Canal in 1811, it was transformed into a lido in 1933 with swimming and boating facilities. The place even secretly trained RAF aircrew during World War II! Although it fell into disrepair in the past, recent renewal works have brought back boating and swimming opportunities. Plus, there's a cute little railway that chugs around two-thirds of the reservoir. So, if you're looking for a fun day out by the water in Ruislip, this place has got you covered!
