Mount Benson is a mountain located just west of Nanaimo and is a popular spot for local hikers with killer views of the Strait of Georgia, Coast Mountains, and Nanaimo River valley. Due to it's steep hike to the summit, it is often referred to as this region’s own Grouse Grind.

This is one of the highest peaks in the region, but you are able to take plenty of breaks along the way if you are less experienced.

During the ice age, Mount Benson was covered in ice, giving it that smooth, rounded shape.

This hike is rated as hard. Length 7.6 km, Elevation gain 746 m, Route type Loop.
