Mount Tzouhalem is one of the larger mountains in Cowichan Valley and is very popular with mountain bikers. But there are many hiking trails here as well and the views from the top are phenomenal.
The summit offers stunning views of Saltspring Island, the Coastal Mountains, and even Mount Baker on clear days.
Originally named "Shkewetsen" by local First Nations, the mountain was later renamed after a Quamichan chief who lived there.
The main Mount Tzouhalem hike is rated as moderate. Length 12.9 km, Elevation gain 534 m, Route type Loop.
