King's Peak trail is a challenging hike to a double-peaked mountain, standing at 6,774 feet high. The trail to the summit is not for beginner hikers and takes you through a mix of steep terrain, tree roots, scree fields, and rock ridges. It's a challenging hike but worth it for the summit views of Kings Peak and Elkhorn Mountain.
There are camps set up along the way at Meadow 1 and 2 to help split up the hike. Meadow 1 has a water source, bathroom and bear cache. Meadow 2 has a water source but no other facilities. Not that Meadow 2 is your last source of water so stock up here!
As for any long/overnight hike, do your research so that you are properly prepared with the right gear and knowledge of current trail conditions.
