Rifugio Scoiattoli is located at Cinque Torri, right next to the chairlift. You can easily reach it by taking the lift, or if you prefer to save money, you can hike up. The hike takes about 1h (one way) from the lift parking lot, where you can simply walk up underneath the lift. This is the shortest route, though there are other ways to reach the rifugio.

At Rifugio Scoiattoli, you can enjoy great food, drinks, and an incredible view. Whether you choose to sit indoors, relax on the terrace, or find a spot next to the hut, the atmosphere is amazing. The view is absolutely breathtaking and simply outstanding. We’ve been there several times, always enjoying a meal or drink, and the food is delicious with reasonable prices. It’s definitely a place we’d like to stay overnight to catch the sunrise and sunset, but unfortunately, it’s always been fully booked when we checked last minute.

Near the Five Towers, we’ve also seen tourists camping a few times. I’m not sure if this is allowed, but it didn’t seem to bother anyone at the rifugio. That said, I’d recommend not pitching your tent directly in sight of the hut (just a heads-up in case you’re thinking of spending the night there but can’t get a room).
