Kloster Säben – The Monastery on the Holy Mountain

Perched high above the town of Klausen in South Tyrol, Kloster Säben is one of the region’s most historically significant sites. Often referred to as the "Holy Mountain of Tyrol", this former Benedictine monastery has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

Can You Visit the Monastery?

While the monastery itself is not open to the public, visitors can explore its surroundings and three beautiful churches:

  • Holy Cross Church

  • Monastery Church

  • Chapel of Grace

These churches are open daily from morning to evening.

Getting There

Kloster Säben is accessible only by foot and takes around 20-30min. from the parking
