Öxarárfoss is a waterfall located in Þingvellir National Park in South Iceland. It is one of the most popular attractions in the park, and is located on the Öxará River. The waterfall is approximately 10 meters high and is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of lava fields and mountains. It is a popular spot for visitors to take pictures and enjoy the scenery.

Öxaráfoss has been part of the history. The first parliament in the world took place in Þingvellir 930AD. It is possible that Öxaráfoss has been human made in order to provide enough water for all the people attending the annual ”Þing”. It also has been part of the executing as convicted people have been drowned in this waterfall.
