Coumshingaun Lough is a tough 6.13km looped trail nestled in the Comeragh Mountains of Waterford. Starting from Kilclooney Wood Car Park, hikers tackle a steep, grassy ascent before navigating treacherous sections that require scrambling. The clockwise loop takes 3-4 hours to complete and offers stunning views of the rugged cliff faces surrounding the lake. Proper preparation, including sturdy hiking shoes and appropriate clothing, is essential due to the challenging terrain. Safety is paramount on this trail, especially in adverse weather conditions.
