Skaftafellsjökull is a glacier tongue located in Skaftafell, part of Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. It's one of many tongues extending from Europe's largest ice cap, Vatnajökull. Visitors can hike the surrounding area to get a great view of the glacier and its adjacent lagoon, with the option to check out the waterfall Svartifoss along the way. Don't mix it up with Svínafellsjökull, another nearby glacier tongue that's often mistaken for Skaftafellsjökull.
