Gili Asahan is a hidden gem in Indonesia’s Lombok region, offering a peaceful escape from the busier islands. It’s known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and untouched natural beauty. You can snorkel daily, kayak, island hop, take rescue horses on a beach walk, go on a sunset cruise, and visit the local village.
The island is home to only 30 local families living in the fishing village and a few boutique resorts. There are no roads, scooters or traffic. You can walk around the whole island in around an hour. It’s perfect if you're seeking nature and relaxation—it ended up being one of our favorite spots during our time in Lombok. I recommend spending 3 nights here to truly unwind; we could have easily stayed even longer.
