Located in Kodachrome Basin State Park, the Panorama Trail takes hikers through the desert, past some of the funky sedimentary pipes that the park is known for. While the hike is relatively short it packs in a ton of great views and unique geologic features along the way.
If you’re up for a longer hike there are a few spur trails that you can tack on to the Panorama Trail, including Panorama Point (+1 mile), Cool Cave Loop (+2 miles), and Shephard’s Loop (+3 miles off the Cool Cave Loop). If you’re making the trip out to Kodachrome Basin, I recommend camping in the park and taking advantage of the nicest camp showers I’ve ever seen.
