The Amassa Back Trailhead serves a number of different trails off of Kane Creek Rd. The trails in this area are dog-friendly and open to hikers and mountains bikers. Some trails are also open to OHVs. This is one of the areas where my husband and I like to go so he can get in a challenging, technical mountain bike ride, while I hike.
I like taking the Amassa Connector Trail to the HyMasa and Cliffhanger Trails. The hike involves a pretty solid climb with beautiful canyon views. Be aware, the Cliffhanger Trail is open to OHVs. You can really hike as far as you want, including out to an overlook of the Colorado River.
