A beach with hot springs underneath. Bring a spade and dig your own hot pool at low tide. Very popular in summer and on public holidays, come early to get parking if tide times are convenient.

Further information: Hot Water Beach is a truly unique experience located on the Coromandel Peninsula. Its world-famous naturally occuring hot springs can be enjoyed during low tide, where visitors can dig in the beach sand to find the warm water bubbling up from below. The views over the Pacific ocean are stunning and a wide range of activities and attractions await, including taking a stroll along the coast to spot native sealife, visiting the town's many restaurants and cafes to sample local cuisine, exploring the gift shops and art hub, going surfing, or simply enjoying the magical hotwater springs. With a range of accommodation to choose from, Hot Water Beach is sure to fulfil everyone's holiday needs and dreams.
