The Kaikōura Peninsula Walkway is an outdoor enthusiast paradise. From the town centre, visitors can explore the shoreline and marvel at stunning geology such as laid down limestone and siltstone that formed over 60 million years ago. Along the clifftop, hikers are rewarded with spectacular views of the Seaward Kaikōura Range, ocean and coastline, whilst discovering native New Zealand wildlife such as whales, dolphins, seals, birds and crayfish. A collection of informative signs provides insight to the rich history, evolution and organisms that exist here. Individuals have multiple routes to choose from, ranging from 5 minute trips to 3 hour long strolls, allowing every explorer to tailor their journey to suit their own needs.
