Paços do Concelho is the building that serves today as the headquarters of Câmara Muncipal de Lisboa ("Lisbon City Hall"), located at Praça do Município ("Municipality Square"), in the downtown area, very close to Praça do Comércio ("Commerce Square"). It was build in the late 19th century.
We visited Paços do Concelho on April 25th, 2022, one of the most important holidays in Portugal, date in which the Lisbon City Hall opened its doors to anyone willing to visit this historic landmark.
Paços do Concelho was the exact place where Portugal became a Republic, overthrowing its monarchy, on October 5, 1910.
