Café Nicola was established at Praça do Rossio ("Rossio Square") back in 1929, but Botequim do Nicola existed since the 18th century in the same place. This is one of the most traditional cafés in Lisbon, worth the visit.
Just like other old cafés in the city, such as "A Brasiliera" and "Martinho da Arcada", this was a place where writers, artists and politicians used to meet between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
