MAAT is Lisbon's Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, located in the neighborhood of Belém, very close to several other attractions and at the riverfront of the Tagus river. It's remarkable architecture is perhaps its most interesting feature. It showcases contemporary art expositions and was inaugurated in 2016.
Its undulating format features white tiles in the shape of a trapeze on the museum's façade, which help to reflect the sunlight, producing different looks according to the seasons and the time of day. Depending on the conditions, MAAT can have a predominantly white appearance, or emanate silver or even gold tones. These tiles were manufactured by the same Spanish company that worked with Antoni Gaudí on the construction of the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona.
The regular ticket costs 9€. MAAT can be visited for free in the first Sunday of each month!
