St. Valentin Church, located in the Dolomites, is a must-see gem for anyone visiting the area. This picturesque church sits atop a grassy slope with a breathtaking mountain backdrop that will make your heart flutter with awe. The church's tower, crowned with a crimson dome, is impossible to miss and adds to its charm. The exact year of its construction is unknown, but it has been documented since 1244. Legend has it that the church holds a bull-size legend of its own, involving witches and a lucky bell. While you can admire the church from a distance, taking a hike to visit it is highly recommended. The walk may be somewhat steep, but the stunning views of the valley and the surrounding scenery make it all worth it. Inside the church, you'll find remarkable frescoes dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Unfortunately, touring the chapel is not possible without making a special appointment, but the outside is so spectacular that it's an appointment you can afford to skip. Don't forget to take some time to explore the charming farmsteads in the area before heading back down. Overall, St. Valentin Church is a hidden gem that should not be missed when exploring the Dolomites.
