Commissioned by Charles V of Spain, Castello Carlo V is a 16th-century fortress that was part of a coastal fortification system. While it may not be the most impressive fortress you'll ever see, it boasts some interesting historical features such as a Roman round tower, an underground church, and a pentagonal shape, which was popular for Spanish forts during that time.
