The Cement Works in Warkworth is a hidden local gem, offering a large swimming hole that’s popular with both families and thrill-seekers. The water is deep, so it's a great spot for teens to show off their best cannonballs, but it’s also safe for little ones if you bring life jackets 🦺. There are plenty of picnic areas nearby, making it a perfect spot for a family day out. 🌊. The toilets are clean, and the area is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend along 🐾.

Aside from the swimming hole, the Cement Works site is steeped in history. It’s a significant industrial landmark and holds major historical value in the region. Recognized by Heritage New Zealand as a Category 1 historic place and listed as a New Zealand Archaeological Association site, it’s an important part of our local history. The site was even highlighted in the IPENZ "Engineering to 1990" project, marking its role in the development of the nation 🏗️.

Whether you’re there to swim, explore, or learn about its history, the Cement Works in Warkworth is a unique spot with something for everyone!
