Sungnyemun, also known as Namdaemun, is a historic gate located in Seoul. It was once a significant part of the city wall that surrounded the capital city during the Joseon Dynasty, providing defense and serving as the south one of the main gateways into the city. It was partly destroyed during the Korean War and rebuilt afterwards. Today, it stands as a remarkable testament to Seoul's history and is a cherished symbol of the city's enduring legacy.
