Bláhylur, also known as Hnausapollur, is a stunning crater lake in Iceland's Southern Highlands. Formed during a volcanic eruption in 871, this picturesque spot offers travelers a chance to marvel at its deep blue waters set against the surrounding colorful landscape. Visitors can easily walk down to the lake for a closer look or hike up to get a panoramic view of the area. Located near Landmannalaugar, Bláhylur is just one of the many natural wonders waiting to be explored in the Icelandic Highlands.
