If you only do one walk in Eryri (Snowdonia) make it this walk…
Because not only is the Aberglaslyn Pass incredibly beautiful - with these amazingly crafted bridges crossing the crystal clear river and surrounded by the spectacular Snowdonia mountain ranges - but my kids absolutely loved it... And I’m talking no moaning, no complaining, no “my legs hurt” loved it!
Now this is not a flat boring river path, and I think that’s why they loved it. They had to climb up and over steps that have been carved out of the side of the gorge, grab the metal hand holds to help them manoeuvre around large boulders, and cross the fairytale-like wooden bridges.
For them this was a real adventure, but as it’s a low level walk it wasn’t too long or tiring for their little legs. (If you want to you can extend this walk up to Mynydd Sygyn for a big day out)
On top of that there are a number of spots to stop for a paddle and of course you have to finish it off with ice cream from Glaslyn Ice cream parlour or a cosy pub lunch in the Prince Llewellyn
We started and finished the walk in Beddgelert, but as it’s an out and back route you could park and start at the quieter Nantmor national trust car park and stop halfway for lunch or ice cream in Beddgelert.
