Ok full disclosure here - I am yet to summit Moel Famau with the kids, mostly because the walk up there is kind of boring and it's all uphill. But if 360 views and big hill climbs is your thing, then it's definitely worth a visit.
You can skip the first section of the climb by starting out at the top car park, but this trail is more open to the elements and you will miss out on the play area at the bottom car park. The trail from the bottom car park that starts out through the woodland is slightly more interesting for the kids, but is steeper.
If you are in the area but don't want the big hike there are 2 other family friendly trails here - see listings for The Forest Tracker Trail and The Larches Loop.
